Our parents embraced life and what America had to offer. Sharing this joy through our festical is one way we can express our gratitude for what we have been privileged to experience here in America. We hope you will enjoy "A Taste of Greece... Without The Airfare."
Changing With the Times

1940
The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of St. Louis is chartered and a small existing church is purchased at 1605 N.Euclid Ave., in the city of St. Louis. The location is perfect for the majority of parishioners, who live within walking distance.

1948
As the parish begins to grow, an existing larger and more modern facility is purchased and renovated at 1212 Academy, also in the city of St. Louis. The property contains a gym and schoolrooms that can accommodate a growing parish.

1958
The parishioners begin moving to different areas of the city and county, hence the decision to relocate to a more convenient area. They purchase and renovate an architecturally unique existing church at 6900 Delmar Blvd. in University City.

1989
In 1978, parishioners purchase land at 1755 Des Peres Road, in Town & Country, with the intent of building an original parish. In 1989, the church is complete and the dream becomes reality...their very own basilica and community center.
